01Who we are
Second Fix Studio designs websites for UK tradespeople. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Second Fix Studio is the controller of the personal information described here.

02What we collect
When you use the enquiry form we receive:
- your name, if you choose to give it
- your business name, trade and town
- your email address
- links to where we can see your work, such as Facebook, Checkatrade or your current website
- anything else you choose to write in your message
If you email us directly we receive whatever you include in that email. We may also look at the public pages you point us to, so we can design your mockup. Please don’t send us sensitive information such as health details; we don’t need it.
03Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details only to reply to you, to prepare and send your free homepage mockup, and, if you decide to go ahead, to build and look after your website.
- Taking steps at your request before a contract. When you ask for a mockup or a quote, we use your details to respond.
- Legitimate interests. We have a legitimate interest in answering business enquiries and keeping a sensible record of them. We’ve considered this against your interests, and we only keep what’s needed.
We will not add you to a mailing list, sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
04Where your information is stored
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and our inbox. They handle your information on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- Zoho Mail hosts our email inbox, where enquiries arrive. Our account is held in Zoho’s UK/EU data centre.
- Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. Like any web host, it processes technical information such as your IP address so the site can be delivered and kept secure.
- Web3Forms is the form service that passes your enquiry from this website to our inbox.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the provider offers under UK data protection law, such as approved contract terms.
05How long we keep it
If you send an enquiry and we don’t go on to work together, we delete your enquiry and our emails about it within 12 months of our last contact.
If you become a client, we keep project emails and records for as long as we work together, and invoices and related records for up to six years afterwards because the law requires us to keep business records.
06Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it doesn’t load fonts or scripts from third-party tracking services. Our fonts are hosted on our own site.
The enquiry form only talks to the form service when you press send. If our host detects suspicious traffic, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie to keep the site safe; this isn’t used to track you.
07Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask for your information in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email hello@secondfixstudio.co.uk. It’s free, and we’ll respond within one month.
08Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first at hello@secondfixstudio.co.uk and we’ll do our best to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
09Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
